World Book Day 2025
We had the most wonderful day last Thursday for World Book Day! It was so brilliant to feel the buzz around the school with all the children in their costumes and looking at all the fabulous book potatoes they made at home! We spent the day doing a variety of activities to promote the love of reading in all our children. As you can see from the pictures, it wasn't just the children that got into the fancy dress spirit!
So much went on across the school throughout the day including..
-an author (Tina Talbot ) visit to Year 2 and a chance to get books signed.
-a sustainable book swap where the children gave in pre-loved, donated books to school, then on the children were able to take 1 free book home each.
-fancy dress as favourite book characters (there will be prizes)
-whole school homework competition where children decorated a potato as their favourite book character
-reading buddy sessions took place in the morning - this is when each year group is paired up with another year group so children from various ages can read books together and all children can make a new 'reading buddy'
-whole school assembly to celebrate all our costumes!
A wonderful day was had by all - we cannot wait for next year!
