Enrichment
At Warren Mead, we offer our children a lot more than our discrete subject curriculum. Our Enrichment programme throughout the year help the children develop their interests and abilities, providing valuable learning experiences outside the classroom. This in turn promotes their independence and social skills.
Clubs
At Warren Mead, we provide children with a wide range of extra-curricular activities led by external companies.
Spanish
Spanish is introduced for all children at the beginning of Year 3 and progressed over the four years of KS2. The emphasis is on oral activities, but the children will develop the oracy and literacy skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing a foreign language, through a variety of activities including songs, puppet work, role play, games and reading and writing stories. These aim to develop confidence and enjoyment of learning a foreign language, as well as enabling children to communicate in Spanish.
Trips
At Warren Mead, we offer a range of trips and visits for all year groups that we are proud of. There is a clear progression in the trips and visits we offer which include our approach to residential visits. Year 3 can take part in an overnight sleepover in the school hall, Year 4 can visit Marchants Hill for 2 nights, Year 5 can attend a sleepover at the Natural History Museum and Year 6 can go to Osmington Bay for a 4 night residential.
An overview of the opportunities our children face on a daily basis to further enrich their learning is below.
